How to do EFT

There are 4 parts to the Basic recipe of EFT. Before starting choose something that bothers you, that you 'd like to work on. Now decide how much emotion it invokes when you start to think about it, 0-10. If you're angry, how angry are you on a scale 0-10, if you're sad, how sad 0-10 and so on. As you go through the EFT process described below, you will need to stop and revaluate your 0-10 feeling at regular intervals to see how much you have lowered it. Usually in only a few rounds of focused intent using EFT, you can completely eliminate an issue (or an aspect of an issue). I especially enjoy using EFT with spiritual concepts like Intuition Development and Clearing your Aura. EFT REALLY gets that energy moving! It makes you feel like a new person!
Gary Craig (the founder) believes that we should just assume that we have psychologcial reversal because dealing with it is so easy and worth the time. This is why he includes the Set up in EFT.
As you tap on the karate chop point (this is the meaty part of the side of your hand, opposite your thumb, not pictured here) you’ll say ‘Even though I have this ____(problem)_____ I completely and deeply accept myself”. Fill in the blank with the problem you are experiencing. You can also use a phrase like “ I accept myself even if (problem). You cannot make a mistake with EFT, just forcus and set your intention! After the Set up , then you need only refer back to the problem and you do not have to repeat “I completely and deeply accept myself” each time.
Here you will massage your gamet point, which is between your pinkie finger and your ring finger down by the V part on your hand. Now as you massage that point, you
Close your eyes
Open your eyes
Eyes hard dopwn right (don’t move your head)
Eyes hard down left (don’t move your head)
Roll your eyes in a huge circle (don’t move your head)
Roll your eyes in the opposite direction
Hum 5 seconds of a song (any song)
Count 1-5 (engages the analytical mind)
Hum 5 seconds of a song again
A little note about the 9 Gamet. Most of the time, it's NOT needed. I have been amazed by the success without the use of the 9 gamet. I actually rarely use/need it when I work with people using EFT.
You can stop before doing this step and take a deep breathe and evaluate how you’re emoitional charge is 0-10 concening the aspect you’re dealing with. Does it still have a huge emotional charge for you? Take a guess at a number if you’re not sure. You don’t have to be over analytical about the number. It doesn’t really matter if you say 8 when its a 7.5. The idea is simple to give you a scale to go by so you can tell when your anxiety or upsetment is going down.
